One of my high school comrades and his crew are hosting a beautification project in Manhattan this weekend. I spoke about it on episode 6 of The NeiaNeia Show, but in case you haven’t had the chance to listen in…
Who: Dating For A Cause, www.datingforacause.com – an organization that is dedicated to encouraging love and humanitarianism through charitable donations, social mixes, and dating events across the New York metro area. (Ya’ll know I am all about the love and charity.)
What: Beautification of Seward Park – Dating For a Cause and the NYC Parks and Recreation Department has organized a volunteer event to beautiful Seward Park. They will be removing dead plants and spreading compost and woodchips on planting beds.
When: Saturday April 3, 2010 10am-1pm
Where: Seward Park, corner of Essex and Canal
Why: Because the cat has two big eyes…and because of the horrible storm that tossed all of our dirts, plants, and trees around. Time for some TLC.
*After party at Stay nightclub (244 E. Houston St) is from 7pm-11pm, is $10 at the door and free for all volunteers. Proceeds go to a conservation fund for the advancement of America’s Land and Waters.
